I spent a wonderful weekend with my fiancé in the majestic Bed& Breakfast Doeninghe in Bruges. Everything was outstanding, from decorations, service, staff and surroundings. If you ever want an escape weekend, choose B&B Doeninghe in Bruges. Not only you will be charmed by the beautiful interior designs, the simple but exquisite furniture, but you will enjoy to bits the large breakfast served with such a care, that even in the most expensive restaurant you will not get.
Everything in B&B Doeninghe is made with the purpose of making you feel good, relaxed and taken care of. The chandelier from the room that you will get will leave you breathless. The old and new furniture, the calm colors of the walls will instantly make you feel peaceful and relaxed. The little sweets left on the little round table will make you smile.
And you will wake up really excited in the morning, knowing that a breakfast equaled to the one of a king/queen will wait for you downstairs. When you will see the table you will be speechless: a superb and thick tablecloth covered by two beautiful French country-style runners will decorate the table. The cutlery will be so fancy that you will spend a few moments to contemplate it, although not too long as you will be amazed by the variety of foods available on the table. Sweet or salt, what do you prefer? There will be loads of buns, croissants, pains-aux-chocolat and other pastries, cheeses and charcuterie, various jams, even nuttela and chocolate hudreds-and-thousands. The butter will be served in a little butter jar and on the edge of your beautiful plate à la française, you’ll have a cute little butter knife. Should you prefer eggs, just tell it to Bianca and she will cook for you the tastiest scrambled eggs you’d ever had. Tea, coffee or both? They will be served with such a care, that you will be amazed. You’ll spend at least 1 hour at the table in the morning, so make sure you foresee some walking later in the day. Bruges city center is just 15 minutes away and there is plenty of sight-seeing to do. However, if walking is not too appealing, than maybe ridding bikes will entice you more. The Doeninghe owners – Frank and Bianca- will gladly put at your disposal some bikes for free.
The only reproach that you could have is the time – it goes too fast!
